| The first Women Who Succeed conference held on May 14th was a huge success! We had approximately 225 attendees, our speakers from Women Who Succeed were phenomenal, and our mentees and mentors were able to meet in person! The speakers were knowledgeable and inspiring followed by a reception with appetizers, music, a photo booth, and representation from 8 colleges and universities around the state who brought enrollment information for the young women. | Women Who Succeed is proud to celebrate Juneteenth commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans. The holiday originated in Galveston, Texas, and has been celebrated annually on June 19th in various parts of the United States since 1865 when Union Army general Gordon Granger read the proclamation declaring freedom for enslaved people in Texas. Juneteenth National Independence Day became a federal holiday on June 17, 2021. |

2021-2022 Cohort Wrap-Up:
This has been a phenomenal inaugural year with Women Who Succeed. Our deep gratitude goes out to the 53 members that donated their time and talents as mentors- along with the countless others that made an impact through speaking at workshops, hosting interns, and connecting young women with higher education and industry prospects. We are thrilled to announce that three graduating mentees received full-time job offers through contacts made in their Women Who Succeed network!

2022-2023 MENTOR ORIENTATION:
Many thanks to all the women who joined us at the Women Who Succeed Conference on Saturday, May 14th. Both at the conference and at two subsequent virtual sessions, we conducted full mentor program orientations. The recording of the Mentor/Mentee Orientation, along with a copy of the slide deck, is available here for all mentors.
We wish you all a wonderful summer and encourage you to informally and regularly connect with your mentees over the coming months. As a reminder, monthly mentor meetings begin on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH!
Internship
Current Cohort:
Interested in hosting an intern? Fill out our Intern Request Formand help us support our 173 Women Who Succeed mentees wanting to gain experience, explore industries, and enhance their resumes specifically through an internship. Once the form is completed, the Women Who Succeed team makes the internship posting available to all mentees. Through broad and targeted outreach with the young women, we will gather a batch of resumes by interested applicants that will be forwarded to you.
Mentee Highlight: Sevara Frederico
Sevara is a high school Junior at West High School- and has participated in both Women Who Succeed and Code to Success, programs of the Success in Education Foundation. A talented and ambitious leader, Sevara is the Founder of Sego Lily Hacks. “The mission of Sego Lily Hacks is to empower women in STEM by creating educational opportunities and supportive environments in which they can develop their passions.”
Over the past two years, she led a team of six to organize Salt Lake City’s first and largest gender-focused hackathon. She fundraised over $28,000 in monetary and in-kind sponsorships and developed corporate partnerships to further their mission. Your Dollars Have Impact
On May 18, 2022, we hosted the first women’s only flight at the Ken Garff Hole in One Challenge, and it was a smashing success! Thank you to the following companies that supported the event and joined us on the links at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club: Spinoff, Ken Garff, GBS Benefits, Scheels, BYU, Zions Bank, University of Utah Athletics, O.C.
