A Note from Erin…

Great job team for an outstanding Women Who Succeed conference! Quick recap for those of you that weren’t able to make it this year. We had 282 attendees, including 171 mentees of which 24 are a special cohort of young women who are refugees. Kathi Garff welcomed all, and our keynote speakers were Sadie B. co-owners Sadie Bowler, Business student at the University of Utah, and her co-founder and sister, Abby Bowler, recent graduate of Economics at BYU. We also had the pleasure of hearing from McKenzie Bauer, co-founder of Thread Wallets. The conference was filled with inspiring moments, insightful workshops, and the invaluable opportunity for mentees and mentors to connect and set the stage for the upcoming year.

Membership

Once again, thank you to all who joined us at our annual WWS conference on May 18th. We had a huge turn out with over 80 members there to meet their new mentees and kick off the new cohort. Extra gratitude to the members who attended and gave of their time and talents to help with workshops, panels, registration, and the clothing drive. It was a fantastic kick-off to what will most certainly be our best year yet. We hope you have met or reached each of your mentees if you are mentoring this year. If your mentees have not been responsive or have indicated they aren’t moving forward, please let us know.

If you applied for the program after April 15th and have not been assigned mentees yet, please know you have been placed on a priority waitlist and we will reach out to you as soon as more mentee applicants have been received. We are so excited to have so many members willing to mentor this year!

Many have asked about a membership directory. It is in the works. We want to be certain we respect the privacy of all members. You will be contacted via email for your opt-in preferences and will need to respond no later than June 14th to be included. The directory is to be used for Women Who Succeed purposes only and should not be shared or forwarded to anyone.

As we head into summer, we hope you all enjoy some family time and outside fun. We will be hosting a Summer Soiree for all members and mentees at the beginning of August. Watch your email for details coming soon!
